Success is comming

Hello everyone,
Again I apologize for taking so long between blogs. I got a job that is taking up a lot of my time and with school, well I don't have enough hours in the day!!! I picked up the "official" bi-laws from the lawyer this week and have an appointment with the CPA on Saturday the 23rd to finalize the 1023 application to the IRS. I am so excited to see this most awesome project moving along. I emailed Oprah a dozen times asking her to do a show on PTSD. Just tonight I went to her web site to suggest it again, low and behold, the home page on her site (oprah.com) has just one question for "do you want to be on the show".....and it is "suffering from PTSD?" WOW, I think they just might be considering doing a show on the subject. How exciting would that be? And if she lets me come on the show and talk about what we are trying to accomplish...... It is just the national attention that would boost us into success!!! I suppose I am going to get alot of work done tonight considering my adrenalin is now going about a million miles a minute!! Can't wait to share more with you all later. Thanks so much for your interest and your concern with our heroes and making sure we as a nation take care of them. It is so important. These troops are ALL volunteers. They deserve our attention and commitment to helping them when they return home. My latest idea of a fund raiser is "Sponsor a Soldier" The idea is, that most every soldier over there does a 15 month tour of duty. You can sponsor one at a dollar a month for the length of their tour. If they are giving up 15 months of their lives, we can give up a dollar a month that each service member is there for, that only comes out to a quarter a week for 15 months. At any one time, there is 130,000 troops in country. If the foundation can get 130,000 people to sponsor just one troop at a dollar a month for the length of their stay, that is only 15 dollars, the foundation will receive 1,950,000!!! As soon as that goal is reached, we can start providing the care these guys so desperately need and deserve. I kicked off the campaign myself today with a 15 dollar donation in my own son's name. Very soon, we will have a page on the web site for this goal. (probably by Friday). Please visit us again soon and you don't have to wait for the special pledge page, you can right now donate the 15 dollars and your name and the name of the soldier you sponsor will be on a special page soon. If you don't have a particular soldier in mind, that’s ok too. Just be a sponsor of an anonymous one. Thank you again so much for your interest and support in this most important cause.

Hello supporters and fans of Military HEROS Foundation,

Thank you, we couldn't do this without your support and help. Last Saturday I got some great help from a place called DC's Country Junction in Lowell Indiana and I have to say a big thanks to Dan for his generosity. It is a family country party place. They have line dancing, food, drinks for all ages and tons of fun! The very talented house band was playing when I walk in and I enjoyed it immensely. Dan took me into the office and basically said "whatever we can do to help, we will". How generous of DC's. We are planning a HUGE fund raiser on March 30th. I hope lots of you can come out and join us. There will be raffles, drawings, a silent auction and lots of FUN!!

Hey, two days in a row!! Who would of thunk.... Anyway, I just had to tell everyone about my presentation last night. I presented to a group called The Wall Gang. They are a group of vets, a lot of them motorcycle riders and they ride to Washing D.C. every memorial day to the Wall to honor the vets who gave their lives in Vietnam. As soon as I walked in, I got a hug from Steve Moore, the president and founder of the organization and was so warmly welcomed by all. With their generous donation, my dream moves forward. I just want to say thanks to The Wall Gang, you guys are AWESOME!!!

Once again time is flying by, we are already more than a week into the New Year. First I want to declare that 2008 will be GREAT! I'm looking forward to a successful 2008 and I hope every one enjoyed their holidays. I started my New Year off by raising money for the foundation. I have put together a presentation that I give at VFW's, Lions clubs and local businesses. Again, I just started it, but last week I raised 600 dollars and now that I got it rolling, I plan on getting more and more. These generous donations will help pay for the filing of the form 1023 to the IRS which gives us the 501c3 status that will allow us to go for the big bucks from the government and big business. Luckly, I get to talk to my son Travis almost every day. He is in Bagdad now, not real happy about that, but the FOB he is at has not lost a soldier in the green zone in over 2 years. Now if he can just stay out of the red zone, thats another story. I wish all of you good luck in 2008, and thanks to everyone who is supporting the military either through Military HEROS Foundation or other ways!!!
